I'm gluten free.  What can I eat?

Due to possible cross contamination we use the term “Gluten Friendly”.

Carnita Fajitas with corn tortillas are a good option.  Quesadillas can be made with corn tortillas per request as well.  Shredded chicken and carne molida are gluten friendly as well.  If you get enchiladas, request the salsa ranchera topping. As noted above, there’s soy sauce in the Pechuga Gravy.

My children and I are all allergic to dairy, egg, gluten and soy.  What could they eat?

  • Kids enchilada with no cheese and order either the ground beef or pulled chicken
  • Kids fajita taco on corn tortilla with no cheese and pan seared with no seasoning (soy sauce) other than salt and pepper
  • Kids soft taco on corn tortilla with no cheese and ground beef or shredded chicken

You can order the Enchilads Tejas w/ no cheese and order either ground beef or pulled chicken.  The a Tacos ala Betty’s needs to be made with corn tortilla and pan seared beef (with no seasoning because it includes no soy sauce) and no cheese.  Michelle’s soft tacos need to sub corn and order either pulled chicken or carne molida w/ no cheese. “

I'm allergic to dairy and eggs.  Can I eat your rice and beans

If you are allergic to dairy and eggs you can stil order all of our beans and our Abuelita rice.  Do not order the Cilantro Lime rice.

I'm Vegetarian.  What can I eat?

Our most popular vegetarian entree is our Vegetarian Fajitas. The Enchiladas a la Cheryl and Morocco Enchiladas are also delicious. We also have Veggie Nachos on our menu.

I'm Vegan.  What can I eat?

Our most popular vegan entree is our Morocco Enchiladas.

Are your corn tortillas and chips gluten free?

There is unfortunately gluten “cross contamination” in our corn tortilla chips. That being said, if you’re gluten intolerant they’ll be safe for you to eat. If you’re a celiac however, they will not be safe to eat. Our handmade corn tortillas are also cross contaminated because we use the same flat top to cook corn and flour tortillas.

I have celiac. What are some safe options to eat at Mama Betty's?

We are a gluten friendly kitchen, but not a true gluten free kitchen. What that means is there is inherent cross contamination in some of our items, like our tortilla chips for example. We also use the same fryer for everything meaning that anything fried will also be cross contaminated. That being said, a safe bet are our enchiladas. The only enchilada sauce that contains gluten is our Sour Cream sauce. You’re good to go with any of our other sauces! Now in terms of protein options for the enchiladas, the only ones that contain gluten are the Fajita Enchiladas. That’s because there’s soy sauce in the marinade for both our chicken and steak fajita meat. (note: for chicken fajitas. the soy sauce is in the pechuga gravy). Carnita Fajitas with corn tortillas are also a great option.
